Surrounded by picturesque hills, Sherwoods Cottage is situated on The Oaks which is a grazing property in the Rocky Creek Valley halfway between Narrabri and Bingara. With two bedrooms, accommodating up to five people, the cottage has a lovely verandah facing east to catch the morning sun and an open fire for those chilly nights. All beds have electric blankets and there is an extra gas heater in the kitchen. In addition, both bedrooms have overhead fans for the warmer weather. The cottage is fully self-contained (including linen), however, if you prefer a complete holiday, guests are welcome for meals at the homestead. The Oaks homestead is a turn of the century (c1900) brick home with a delightful dining room where guests can enjoy a delicious three course meal. On cooler nights, the room is warmed by a glorious open fire. Did you know that it is actually shorter to leave the Newell Highway at Narrabri coming past Sherwoods Cottage, then on to Bingara and Warialda or Inverell, if you are going to the North Coast, the Gold Coast or Brisbane? We call it The Scenic Route and it is truly beautiful, it also takes you away from all those trucks! Pets are welcome at Sherwoods Cottage but must be restrained around stock. For those who wish to bring their own horses, we have secure accommodation for horses at Sherwoods Cottage.
